Tzeda Health Fund
This fund centers on targeted investments in healthcare initiatives that address systemic health disparities, aiming to eliminate barriers and ensure equitable access to quality healthcare for all communities. By strategically supporting programs that prioritize marginalized populations, the fund seeks to drive systemic change, promoting policies and practices that address the social determinants of health and work towards achieving health equity across diverse demographics. The fund's theory of change is rooted in the belief that proactive and sustained efforts can transform the healthcare landscape, fostering inclusivity, community engagement, and a holistic approach to health justice that addresses underlying inequalities in the United States.
Why Now: The urgency of this work is substantiated by alarming statistics revealing profound health disparities; for instance, data shows a persistent 2.5 times higher maternal mortality rate among Black women compared to white women, emphasizing the critical need for targeted interventions. Timely intervention is imperative, considering the stark reality that communities of color are disproportionately affected by chronic conditions, with statistics revealing a 40% higher prevalence of diabetes and a 30% higher rate of heart disease, demanding urgent action to rectify these health inequities.
