My Tam's Fund for Systems Change
The organizations in this fund act as catalytic capital and are pivotal partners to the communities they serve. They sit at the intersection of meeting the needs of multiple constituents and their daily work have implications for the seven generations and beyond that come after them. Grounded, rooted, informed by, and honoring the lived experience of the communities they serve, supporting their work, leadership, and impact will lift neighborhoods, communities, and countries around the globe as they scale.
Why Now: The pandemic has exacerbated the inequities of communities who’ve been historically underinvested across the globe. From healthcare to the financial system and the arts. When we invest in one area, we have to also consider its ripple effects in other parts of our ecosystem. As our generation is confronted with the triple threat of climate change, compounding AI and technological advancement, and a constant tectonic shift in socio-political-economic systems and instability, we need organizations like Wa Na Wari to counter the forces of gentrification in our major cities, Common Future addresses the inequities of our present financial systems across the U.S., and the Population Council centers reproductive health and the social determinants of health for women, girls, and children around the world.
